The Utah Wild Sheep Foundation recently partnered with a local allotment holder on an exciting water development project in the Pine Valley area. Together, we helped to install large 20,000-gallon water catchments designed primarily to support livestock operations. This is a great example of conservation-minded collaboration, the allotment holder agreed to leave valves open during the hot summer months to provide a reliable water source for desert bighorn sheep and other wildlife. Partnerships like these play an important role in improving habitat conditions and ensuring healthy wildlife populations across southern Utah.
